Car insurance in Lebanon: types, prices and how to compare
In Lebanon car insurance comes in three levels: the compulsory bodily-injury cover, third-party liability (TPL) and all-risk. For the same car, premiums differ a lot from one insurer to another, which is why CompareLinqs exists.

The policy Lebanese law requires to register a car and pass the mechanical inspection. It pays for injuries you cause to other people in an accident, not for your car nor for the material damage of others.
Its price is nearly the same everywhere and it is usually issued together with the TPL or all-risk policy of the same insurer.
Third-party liability (TPL)
Covers the material damage you cause to other vehicles or property, up to a limit (500,000 or 1,000,000 USD depending on the insurer). It does not repair your own car.
The cheapest choice for an old or low-value car; most insurers add road assistance.
All-risk
Covers the repair of your own car after an accident, fire or theft, plus third-party liability. The premium is a percentage of the car value (roughly 1.5% to 3.5%) with a minimum.
The differences that matter between insurers: agency repair or not, new spare parts without depreciation, the excess per claim, replacement car, partial theft, natural perils.
There are also in-between plans: Collision (collision only) and Total Loss (total loss only), cheaper than full all-risk.
How much does car insurance cost in Lebanon?
Third-party liability starts around 45 to 75 USD a year. All-risk depends on value, year, insurer and options: a 20,000 USD car usually costs 400 to 700 USD a year.
All premiums are paid in fresh USD today; small policy fees and stamps are added depending on the insurer.
How to compare properly
Enter the make, year and value, tick agency repair and no-depreciation if the car is recent, then compare price and benefits side by side. The calculator uses the insurers' current tariffs, not estimates.
Frequently asked questions
Is the compulsory cover enough?
It is enough to register the car, but it covers neither your car nor the material damage of others. The reasonable minimum is third-party liability.
What is the excess?
The part of each claim you pay yourself under all-risk. A higher excess means a lower premium.
Can a car older than 10 years get all-risk?
Some insurers accept up to 12 or 15 years under conditions, others offer Collision or Total Loss instead. The calculator shows the plans available for your car year.
Is agency repair included?
No, it is an option added to the premium, usually for recent cars only.
